The Marches (Le Marche or just Marche in Italian) is a much lesser-known province than Umbria and Tuscany, located at the same altitude. It is therefore sometimes called Italy's best-kept secret. Le Marche which refers to the Germanic word Mark or border, is sandwiched between the Adriatic coast and the mountain ranges of the Apennines. Le Marche actually has everything to offer: sea and beach but also beautiful mountain villages and even its own ski resorts. It is reminiscent of famous Tuscany in everything, but here it is less touristy and really an area where mainly many Italians vacation themselves.
With its beautiful hills, and historical places like Ripatransone and Offida, 'Le Marche' is a true paradise for climbing and descending, with views that are breathtaking.
