In 2023, we are going to the French Pyrenees, staying in Argeles-Gazost!

Below is an impression of last year's trip:

TOUR DE FEMMES 2022! A fantastic adventure with a visit to a stage of the Tour de Femmes in Epernay followed by cycling in the Alps!
Then we visit one of the beautiful champagne houses in Epernay before leaving early the next day for the French Alps in the Savoie. Here we will ride beautiful rounds on the road bike and will return home tired but satisfied on Saturday, July 30.

Villaparcs offers a super location in the French Alps for cycling vacations in the mountains. In the center of Vallandry lies the small-scale 4-star vacation park. The luxury chalets and apartments are located directly on the mountain at an altitude of 1450m and is also known as the Les Arcs ski area. During your cycling vacation in the French Alps all facilities are at your disposal. Enjoy in the restaurant and be pampered after a bike ride. The park is about 9 hours drive from Eindhoven.

The area around Vallandry has much to offer and is also relatively undiscovered in many ways. We are around the famous town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice and the most famous climbs in this region are the Col de la Loze, which is even made car-free, and the Col de l'Iseran, Tignes, Col dy Joly and Lac Roselend. In our cycling routes we also include the lesser known but equally beautiful climbs. Let us surprise you in this beautiful area!
During this tour we have a super varied program for the participants where really everything is included. Visiting the champagne region near Epernay and Reims, climbing in the Alps and then also seeing the women live at the finish of stage 3 in Epernay What more could you want?

Program Tuesday, July 26 to Saturday, July 30, 2022

This trip is basically with own transportation, we will of course make sure we can carpool together and transportation of bikes we can also think about. After registration we will make sure that everyone gets in touch with each other! Our team car will also drive along.

The cycling program is subject to, among other things, weather conditions of course. We can adjust the program if necessary.

Day 1 - Tuesday 26 July
Meeting point Utrecht - 06:00
Meeting point Eindhoven - 07:00
Arrival in Epernay 11:30
12:00-13:00 Lunch in Epernay
After this, a beautiful round in and around Epernay and Hautvillers with a visit to a champagne house on the route. After this, we will partly ride on the route of the women's Tour de Femmes race (stage 3 from Reims to Epernay), we will visit a team bus of one of the participating teams after the finish.

Ride: 50km / 650hm
Dinner in Epernay planned at 19:30

Day 2 - Wednesday, July 27
07:00-08:00: Breakfast.
We leave in time for Vallandry so that we can spend some time there in the afternoon cycling and getting used to the mountains.
14:00 Arrival and lunch in Vallandry.
Afternoon: Route from Vallandry including the ascent to Arc 1800 (car-free village)
Route description:
Nice lap to get well into it after arriving in Vallandry!
We first descend to Landry and so you can immediately see the climb to Vallandry which will undoubtedly come back later in your vacation 😉
From Landry we ride a stretch of flat and rolling to Hauteville. From here we start our ascent to the villages of Arc. The highest point is at Arc 1800 (also the altitude) and that is a beautiful car-free village around which we ride. On top of the climb we'll ride through a wooded area on our way down to Vallandry!
: 33km / 1100hm
20:00: Dinner followed by briefing

Day 3 - Thursday, July 28
08:30am: Breakfast.
09:30 am: Departure by car to Brides-les-Bains.
10:00am: Route direction with the famous Col de la Loze from Courchevel, lunch on the way from the car. We can choose from several approach routes to the Col de la Loze.

Route Description:
We start in the middle of the beautiful village of Brides-les-Bains before climbing the famous Col de la Loze. This lap is via the less steep side of Courchevel. But before we immediately start the long and tough climb of 26km, we do a short loop via Montagny / La Thuile so we are well broken in before starting from Bozel on the Col de la Loze (highest point 2300m). Note the last 6km of the Col de la Loze is completely car free and you get one of the most beautiful views!
Trip: 61km / 2000hm
19:30: Dinner followed by briefing

Day 4 - Friday, July 29
08:30am: Breakfast.
09:30: Departure by car first to Landry (at the foot of the climb to Vallandry) or you descend by bike.
Route with very beautiful landscapes and the ascent of the famous Cormet de Roselend.

A beautiful route through the valley where we drive it in the opposite direction as most routes plan the famous Cormet de Roselend.
We start in Landry and ride through the valley towards Moutiers. We ride on the left side along the main roads and via the ridge up the Col de Tra (average 5-6%). In the village of Notre-Dame-du-Pre you can refresh yourself at the water trough.
After a more difficult hairpin descent we drive towards Moutiers after which we pass the Col de la Madeleine (we are not going to go up it 😉 )
Then after a reasonably flat stretch we arrive in Albertville. We pass the old fortified town on the mountain so we will immediately do our first part of the Col du Pre.
This runs nicely and turns into the last 15km of real climbing starts from the village of Villard-sur-Doron. The steepest part starts in Areches. Make sure you have enough water with you and in the middle of the village you can refill before the real climbing starts.
At the top of Col du Pre the steepest work is done and you can enjoy a short descent towards the beautiful Lac de Roselend.

Attention; you're not there yet! From the lake you go up the Cormet de Roselend and that is still best spicy by the efforts before. The climb itself is fine and very varied. On top of the Cormet, the climbing is really over for today 😉 .

A wonderful and very clear long (minus 26km!) descent awaits to Bourg-St-Maurice, then a nice roll out on flat roads to Landry!

Trip: 130km / 3000hm
20:00: Dinner followed by briefing

Explanation gravity level

We roughly determine the heaviness of a trip based on a variety of circumstances. Severity can be determined by distances or by the altitude meters in distances. In addition, you experience a ride on a gravel or mountain bike already 'heavier' than a road bike ride.

Per category this is approximately what you can think of. Always discuss with us alternatives or modified routes which also influence the heaviness.
