Details
We offer a super location in the French Alps for cycling vacations in the mountains. In the center of Saint Francois Longchamp lies the small-scale 4-star vacation park Parc Madeleine. The luxury chalets and apartments are located directly on the Col de Madeleine (hors category climb in the Tour de France & Paris-Nice, among others) and is also known as the Grand Domaine ski area (165km). During your cycling vacation in the French Alps, all facilities are at your disposal. Enjoy in the restaurant and be pampered after a bike ride. The park is about a 9-hour drive from Eindhoven.
Saint-François-Longchamp is in the heart of the largest cycling area in the world. Set off for a fantastic adventure in the heart of the Alps. Parc Madeleine is located right on the legendary Col de la Madeleine and is surrounded by as many mythical mountain passes such as the Col du Glandon, Croix de la Fer, Col du Galibier, among others . The most special climb is the Les Lascets de Montvernier; a terrace climb from a fairy tale movie almost. This unique climb was also included in the 2022 Tour de France.
On the north side of the Col de la Madeleine we enter another beautiful area and head towards Vallandry.
In the valley, we ride to Brides-les-Bains and catch the famous (car-free) Col de la Loze which was included in the 2023 Tour de France schedule!
A little further on we will ride the beautiful Cormet de Roselend via Albertville, in short beautiful scenery and more than enough challenges: The Col de Madeleine alone can be climbed on three different routes under completely different conditions. This makes the mountain extra special and challenging for cyclists who love variety. In our cycling vacation routes we also include the lesser known but equally beautiful climbs. Be surprised in this beautiful area!
