The Wines2Whales is more about the journey than the destination. Whatever your inclinations or ambitions, you are guaranteed three fun, action-packed days with like-minded people in a fantastic event!
The Pinotage edition of Wine2Whales is the edition with the highest number of participants and is perfect for international tourists and local riders alike.
The Pinotage is from October 31 to November 2, 2022.
Indeed, it gives participants the chance to enjoy a mid-week race with the pleasure of free days before and a weekend after the race. This is also the version where it is fine to ride an e-mountain bike. We can send information about this separately.
The FNB Wines2Whales was born out of a desire to create a world-class three-day stage race in the Western Cape of South Africa. Since its inception in 2009, the three events, aptly named after the wines of the area, have become a must-do event on the mountain bike calendar.
Participants come from all over the world.
The biggest asset is undoubtedly the beautiful route that has been put together to perfection over the course of 11 years. In the 2021 edition, the traditional route will undergo a massive change, taking riders from the whales at Hermanus to the wines of Lourensford.
The 2022 edition will offer a mountain biking experience unlike any other in South Africa. It includes a mix of terrain including lots of private agricultural roads, majestic mountain single tracks and goes over historic wagon trails.
The spirit of Wines2Whales are the so-called "Gees"; a truly South African expression that is only understood once you have experienced it!
This trip is completely complete and customized for you as a participant and visitor to the Western Cape. The accommodation during the event are in luxury camping tents that are fully equipped.
